Doug Walker operates Casinonomics Consulting. For projects involving inter-disciplinary issues, Dr. Walker works with a network of academic colleagues — including psychology, public health, social work, and law. Casinonomics can handle small and large projects on any aspect of gambling.

Brent A. Evans, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Finance at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. Ph.D. in Economics from Mississippi State University and a Master of Financial Planning from the University of Georgia. His research focuses on gambling policy, consumer financial behavior, household finance, and the economic effects of gambling regulation. Dr. Evans has authored nearly 30 peer-reviewed publications and is the creator of FreeFinanceBook.com. Before academia, he spent a brief period as a professional poker player.

Russell S. Sobel, Ph.D.

Professor of Economics & Entrepreneurship at The Citadel, in Charleston, SC. Ph.D. in economics from Florida State University (1994). Author or co-author of over 150 books and articles, including a nationally best-selling Principles of Economics textbook. His research has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, and he received the 2008 Sir Anthony Fisher Award. With Casinonomics, Dr. Sobel performs data collection, analysis, and econometric work.

Douglas M. Walker, Ph.D.

Professor of Economics at the College of Charleston, in Charleston, SC. Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Cambridge Health Alliance, Division on Addiction, during fall 2014. Studying legalized gambling since 1995, with more than 50 journal articles and book chapters on the economic and social impacts of gambling, particularly casino gambling. Experience consulting for industry, government, and research organizations.
